Calling all hep-cats, jitterbugs, and retro radio lovers! Before the matinee performance of "Casablanca: A Chamber Ballopera," travel back in time to the 1940s with a live radio show, performed onstage at the Mission Theater. Imagine it’s 1942 - you’re in the car on the way to the theater to see the new movie Casablanca, and you turn on the radio. We try to recreate what you may have heard. This performance features several hits popular during WWII and in the years leading up to it, along with some fun extras you may have heard on the same radio show in 1942. While you listen to the live music, you can dance on the stage, just as they used to do at movie theaters. If doing the swing and the fox trot isn’t your style, you can sit in the audience and just listen to the music. The pre-show will run from 1:30 to 2:30, then you’ll have half an hour to grab some popcorn or have a cocktail before the main feature begins at 3 o’clock!
